Wedding Wishes With Kara

Hey Guys! Kara here with yet another project featuring the Large Butterfly Frame Die. It's such a versatile die and I haven't tired of exploring all of the many ways it can be used. This time I've stamped and colored on the die cut as well as added a drop shadow.

It's no secret that I love a lot of white space, but there has to be an element that pops and makes it interesting. On this card it's the colored images. I die cut the butterfly frame first from white cardstock. I then stamped the Modern Anemones strategically on the die cut. I colored the flowers and leaves with Copic markers {R24, R29, R59, YG61, YG63, YG67} and coated them with clear Wink Of Stella. A little bit of shimmer is in order for a wedding card!

I wanted to add a drop shadow to the butterflies, but not to the outer frame. I die cut the butterfly frame from black cardstock and then carefully snipped the frame off. What I was left with was just the five connected butterflies. I was able to off set them slightly behind the white frame and adhere it with some tiny glue dots.

I stamped the Wedding Wishes sentiment, from Modern Peonies, in the center. I adhered the frame to a white card base using dimensional adhesive.

A simple yet striking wedding design. I hope my friends will love it. They are getting married in September.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

GUEST ARTIST FEATURE: Amy Kolling

Hello everyone! Amy Kolling here and I am seriously excited to be a guest for WPlus9. I have had a love for WPlus9 for many years and only dreamt of sharing a project here! Today I have a layered floral card to share featuring the new, beautifully detailed Modern Anemones stamps and die.

I started by white heat embossing the Modern Anemones images and leaves onto smooth watercolor paper. I did a quick watercolor with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers using Tea Rose, Pink Flamingo, and Light Carmine using a waterbrush. Each flower only has one color on it! I love the results you can achieve with these markers! The leaves were done with more shading using Pale Dawn Gray, Mid Green, and Olive Green. All the images were die cut using the Modern Anemones Die.

To create the panel for my flowers, I used the Clear Cut Stackers: Rounded Rectangles to cut one from white card stock. Next, I did something that some are afraid to do……I cut apart a stamp. I wanted to randomly stamp the tiny “hello” from the sentiment “hello dear”. So I simply cut the sentiment apart! With my gray ink, I also stamped the large script “friend” onto my panel. I also stamped one extra tiny “hello” onto a thin strip of cardstock and adhered with foam adhesive.

I began assembling my floral layout onto my rectangle panel. Once I was happy with the layout, I used Press ‘n Seal to hold my images in place while I added each layer of flowers with adhesive and/or foam adhesive. This is such a great tip!! I then layered my floral panel onto some gray cardstock with foam adhesive for dimension.

To create my landscape notecard, I used a diagonal stencil and sponged gray ink from the center to the edges for a softer look. My floral rectangle panel was then adhered to my notecard. For some finishing touches, I added iridescent sequins across my panel. Here’s a look at the dimension of my card.

Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me!

~Amy

Circus Pandas Scene Building with Kelly

Hello Crafters! Today we are talking birthdays. We can all use more birthday cards, especially when they are extra adorable, am I right?

Birthdays are really at the forefront of my mind because my little peanut just had a birthday on Monday. My guy is 4 years old already and I have no idea how that happened. Eeeep! Stop growing.

I embraced the circus theme for today's card because, you know, I was dying to make a one layer scene with all these cuddly circus critters. Decisions had to be made because there's only so much room on a card. So I opted for the panda's today.

You can watch the entire scene come to life in the video below.

Watch above or watch in HD at YouTube

I love how they look like they're swinging way above the crowd just like at the live circus. This is why I love one layer cards, because when you get it, man it's so cool!

We all know I'm a one layer girl all the way. What's your favorite kind of card to make?

Thanks so much for dropping by!
